Course Description
The purpose of this course is to inform the rhetoric theories and provide training on the practical skills of public speaking.  It covers all major steps of speech preparation and presentations.  During the first semester, the content will focus on informative speech, delivering and presentation, build up confidence by learning the skills and techniques in public speaking and improve students' oral ability in making different types of presentations, including informative, persuasive, and other genres of speeches for various purposes.
Course Requirements
1.  Homework: There is no make-up speech and you will get a score of zero (0%) if you fail to show up on your scheduled day.

2. 
Classroom Courtesy: Cell phones must be turned off during class. All students  refrain from talking while a classmate is giving a talk. Students are also encouraged to wear proper attire when scheduled to speak.

3. 
Attendance and Participation: Students are required to attend all class sessions and participate actively in class.

4.
Pass/Fail: A minimum grade of 60% is required to pass this course.
Objectives
1.  Students' will be able to comprehend the rhetoric theories by examples of videos.

2.  Students' will learn how to be a good listener oof a speech by giving peer evaluation to their classmates.

3.  Students' will learn the skills of preparing a speech by using resources.

4.  Students' will learn the skills of presenting a speech by practicing.
