LEAP English Club Activity Page
LEAP English Club activities center around keeping the written or spoken word alive on campus and promoting friendship and fun among English majors and other interested students.  We plan events that celebrate the club interests.  Hence, we plan poetry or fiction readings and story telling events.  See below for specifics.

Meetings will be coordinated and lead by the club officers.

Fund Raising Activities (proceeds will go towards local trips)
Club members collects used books from different sources (e.g., their own, classmates, club members, professors, etc.) and sell them. A car wash is another idea for club members to raise funds for their planned activities.   I'm sure a lot of the professors would love to have their car washed!

Meeting Activities
Java night -poetry/fiction reading while enjoying a cup 'a java!
Movie Nights
members get together  and enjoy a movie (e.g., Dead Poet's Society, Hamlet)
Current Events

to be an excellent conversationalists you must first be well informed and well-read.  This activity is what occurs first during eact meeting--members talk about the current events both locally and the world.

Group Tours and Outings
Local Trips - club members get together and visit local restaurants, libraries, parks, museum, etc.
LEAP 2 Hawaii
members can join a tour to the University of Hawaii and attend a short-term English Oral Training course.  Great opportunity for Language Exposure and learn the American culture.
