Public Speaking
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this course is to inform the rhetoric theories and provide training on the practical skills of public speaking.  It covers all major steps of speech preparation and presentations.  During the first semester, the content will focus on informative speech, delivering and listening skills.  It aims to reduce students' anxiety in public presentation, build up confidence by learning the skills and techniques in public speaking, and improve students' oral ability in making different types of presentation, including informative, persuasive, and other genres of speeches for various purposes.

COURSE OBJECTIVES
After taking this course, students will be able to:

1.  comprehend the rhetoric theories by examples of videos.

2.  learn how to be a good listener of a speech by analyzing speeches online.

3.  present a speech by practicing during the online session with the instructor.

4.  learn some techniques on reducing anxiety in public presentation and build up confidence.
